Karla Swatek

Karla has served as Marketing Director for Horrow Sports Ventures since 2003.

Before establishing her own company, Swatek and Davidson Associates, a San Diego, CA-based business marketing firm, in 1999, Swatek served as Publicity Director of Berrett-Koehler Publishers, San Francisco, and Pfeiffer and Company, San Diego. She has also served as Planned Television Arts’ affiliate West Coast Publicity Director in addition to handling independent projects.

Among other notable authors, Swatek has completed book publishing projects with: Ken Blanchard/Blanchard Training and Development; U.S.O.C. Chairman Peter Ueberroth; Texere Publishing; VISA Founder Dee Hock; Hoover’s Inc. Founder Gary Hoover; USC football coach John Robinson; Robert Hagstrom (The NASCAR Way); Anthony Smith (The Taboos of Leadership); feminist Shere Hite; Toronto Globe & Mail columnist Barbara Moses; Absolut: Biography of a Bottle author Carl Hamilton; and raw foodist/Sci-Fi Channel personality David Wolfe.

Swatek is a graduate of Santa Clara University, and completed graduate work at Radcliffe College (the Radcliffe Publishing Course) and Stanford University. Before entering the sports marketing and publishing fields, she did freelance writing, editorial and corporate communications work in Silicon Valley.

Swatek lives in Carlsbad, California with her husband Mike Davidson and son Andrew.
